Mawlawi Nada Mohammad Nadim Appointed as the Acting Head of Taliban’s Ministry of Higher Education

Zabiullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson, announced that Mawlawi Nada Mohammad Nadim has replaced Abdul Baqi Haqqani as the acting minister of higher education based on Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzadeh’s—the Taliban’s leader—orders.

Previously, he was the Taliban-governor in the capital, Kabul.

Prior to Mr. Nadim, Abdul Baqi Haqqani was the Taliban’s acting minister of higher education.

Mr. Haqqani recently received an honorary doctorate from Nangarhar University. It is known that Mr. Haqqani received religious-based education from a Deobandi school.

Abdul Baqi Haqqani is among the Taliban officials who are banned from traveling due to their imposition of restrictions on girls’ education.
