Taliban attacks kill four security forces in Baghlan and Herat

As many as four security forces were killed and six others were wounded as the result of Taliban attacks in Herat and Baghlan provinces, local sources confirmed.

A security force was killed and three others were wounded as the result of Taliban attacks in Kushk-e- Kuhna district of Herat province, local officials confirmed.

Sayed Abdul Wahid Qatali, Herat governor, said the Taliban launched their attacks near the district building, but were pushed back by security forces.

The security forces have seized a number of munition and advanced weapons equipped with night vision goggles.

Seven Taliban militants were killed and 13 others were wounded in clashes against security forces, he added.

In the northern Baghlan province, a car bomb went off in Pul e Khumri city, capital city of the province, killing three security forces and wounding three others.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening, June 09, in Bagh e Shumal area of Pul e Khumri district, said Abdul Hadi Nazari, spokesperson for 217 Pamir Corps.

The vehicle filled with explosives was detonated when army forces identified it before reaching its target, he added.

According to the local official, three Taliban suicide bombers were also killed as the car bomb went off.

The Taliban have not yet commented on any of the two incidents.
