Kabul police confirms five people killed in Paghman district

Five people were abducted and then killed in Paghman while they were on their way back to Kabul city along with their families after attending a wedding ceremony in the district, according to Kabul police.

Ferdaws Faramarz, spokesperson for Kabul Police, said the incident took place today, Saturday, June 12, in Arghandi area of Paghman district.

He said that the victims were killed by the Taliban militants but the Taliban has not yet commented on the incident.

The capital Kabul has recently witnessed a hike in criminal activities and target killings.

Two days earlier, on June 10, two people were killed and three others were wounded in Wahdat valley of PD8, Kabul.

Police arrested five people in connection with the case and seized two weapons.

According to Kabul Police, the detainees were directly identified by locals. The detainees were operating under command of Mobin, known as “Mobin Sag”, who had been arrested earlier with a gun.
