One NDS officer killed in Jalalabad, two PUFs lost lives in Baghlan

A mine explosion killed an Afghan security force and wounded three others in Jalalabad, Afghanistan’s eastern province, on Tuesday, September 15, says a local official.

Attaullah Khugyani, spokesperson for Nangarhar governor, told media that a mine planted in flower vase in Angor Bagh area of Jalalabad went off at around 9:45 AM, today, when a vehicle of National Directorate of Security (NDS) hit it.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.

On the other hand, two members of people’s uprising force lost their lives after their outpost came under Taliban on Tuesday morning in Berka district of the northern Baghlan province.

Nazir Najm, spokesperson for Baghlan governor, told Kabul Now that the Taliban insurgents conducted an attack at around 02:00 AM in Karacha village of Berka district in Baghlan. Two members of people’s uprising forces were wounded in the attack, Mr. Najm said.

Clash between the Taliban militants and Afghan security forces is underway, according to Najm.

Taliban attacks continue in Afghanistan while peace talks between the government negotiating team and Taliban negotiators is underway in Doha, Qatar.
