Two young men drown while fishing in Daykundi province

The Taliban police in central Daykundi province have reported that two young men drowned and died while fishing in the Helmand River in Miramor district of the province.

In a newsletter on Friday, the Taliban security command in Daykundi stated the incident happened on Thursday afternoon at around 3:00 p.m. in Pai Cholong village of Miramor district.

The two young men were named Hussain Dad and Noor Muhammad. Both were 22 and 25 years old, respectively. The bodies of the two young men were recovered from the river by villagers and handed over to their families.

This is the second drowning incident in the province in recent weeks. Last Friday, two 17- and 18-year-old boys drowned while swimming in the Lazer River in Daykundi city.
