Pregnant women stabbed to death in Herat province

Local sources have said that a pregnant woman was stabbed to death by her stepson on Monday in the Firqaye area in the western Herat province.

The perpetrator managed to escape from the scene and remain at large.

The woman’s husband has two more wives, the source added, and suspected “family problems” to be the cause of the killing.

Taliban officials in the province have not commented.

Afghanistan has seen a sharp increase in murders and suicide across the country. Women and girls are more at risk.

Support Independent Journalism in Afghanistan
