Taliban accused of killing former soldier in Takhar province

Relatives of a former soldier residing in the Khwaja-Ghar district of northern Takhar province have accused the Taliban of his murder.

The victim, identified as Shamsullah, had served in the army during the previous government’s tenure.

According to a family member who spoke to KabulNow, local Taliban members entered Shamsullah’s house in Hazar-Bagh village of Khwaja-Ghar district and fatally shot him around 7:00 pm on Monday.

The motives behind the murder remains known.

A Taliban official in the province has denied the group’s involvement.
