Flash flood kill four members of a family in Nangarhar province

Four members of a single family, including children, were killed when a roof collapsed on them due to flash flood in Nangarhar’s Kama district.

Azizullah, a village resident, told KabulNow that the roof of his neighbor Muwlawai’s house collapsed, killing Muwlawai’s wife, two daughters, and a son. He said another son was missing.

Heavy rain and flash flood on Friday have caused damage to properties and agricultural lands across Nangarhar.

Taliban Natural Disaster Management officials in the province confirmed the reports, but said they had not yet assessed the extent of the damage.

Afghanistan has been through an unprecedented deadly winter of extreme cold, snow and flooding in most of part of the country.

According to a recent report by the International Rescue Committee, Afghanistan is among countries worst affected by climate change.
