Taliban is bolstering its forces in Panjshir province

Sources in Panjshir province have told KabulNow that the Taliban has been increasing the number of its forces in the province.

As the weather gets warmer, sources indicate that the Taliban has decided to strengthen its forces in anticipation of potential clashes with the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF).

According to another source, convoys of Taliban fighters have been arriving in Panjshir districts during the night.

Led by Ahmad Massoud, the son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, the NRF has been fighting against the Taliban in the Panjshir and neighbouring provinces. It is the main armed group active against the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The Taliban has faced widespread accusations of detaining, torturing, and summarily executing both NRF members and civilians in Panjshir and other areas.
