Taliban prevents families it displaced return to their homes in Panjshir

Local sources in Panjshir province say the Taliban is preventing families who were forcibly displaced months ago by the group to return to their homes.

At least ten families, accused of being affiliated with the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan armed group (NRF), were forcibly displaced from Korpetab village in Paryan district of Panjshir, and have been prevented from returning.

Sources told KabulNow that Taliban forces have been conducting regular house-to-house searches to ensure the families have not returned.

The NRF, led by Ahmad Massoud, the son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, has been most active in Panjshir province.

The Taliban has faced widespread accusations of engaging in arbitrary detentions, torturing, and committing extrajudicial killings of both NRF members and civilians in the province.
