Hizb-e-Islami office confirms the armed attack on their main office’s mosque located on Dar al-Aman Road in PD6 of Kabul at the time of Friday prayer today December 2.
Armed attackers, allegedly two people, first exploded their explosives at the entrance gate of the mosque and then opened fires.
The two attackers were shot to death by Hekmatyar’s bodyguards before reaching their target.
It is reported that at least two bodyguards of the Hizb-e-Islami office were injured and others, including, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar are fine.
Taliban security officials in Kabul have not commented about the incident as of yet.
So far, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
