EU Delivers Medicines and Nutrition to Afghanistan

The European Union (EU) in Afghanistan reports that this organization has delivered medicines and nutrition to Afghanistan.

The cargo reached Kabul this morning, December 7 through the humanitarian air bridge, tweeted EU in Afghanistan.

EU has previously delivered food assistance and medicine to Afghanistan.

EU says that 28 million people will need assistance in Afghanistan in the coming year.

However, the EU believes that humanitarian cargo provided by EU and its trusted partners are more important than ever before.

After the Taliban returned to power in August 2021, unemployment and poverty in the country peaked, and the foreign assistance rate decreased. The statistics from international organizations show that more than 97% of Afghan people are below the poverty line and need help to get through the cold winter ahead.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has recently announced that almost 20 million people in Afghanistan currently do not have access to enough food, and more than 24 million people need immediate humanitarian aid.
