Key member of Lashkar-e-Taiba killed in Kunar

Afghanistan Ministry of Interior (MoI) said today, Thursday, July 15, that the Afghan security forces have killed a key member of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Kunar province.  

Saifullah was killed in Asmar district of the province on Wednesday, July 14, said a statement issued by MoI. He was behind terrorist activities in Kunar province, according to the statement.  

Lashkar-e-Taiba is a Pakistan-based terrorist network that carries out terror activity in South Asia. It maintains close ties with al-Qaeda and ISIS.

In Afghanistan, the group is active in the eastern provinces that share border with Pakistan.
