Afghan politicians and jihadi leaders will support Afghan security forces

As violence is intensifying across the country, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani held a consultation meeting with prominent politicians, jihadi leaders, and influential figures, said a statement issued by the Presidential Palace on Saturday, July 31.

The jihadi leaders announced full support for the Afghan security and defense forces. They acclaimed the courage and resistance of the Afghan forces and People Uprising Forces have shown against “occupying” Taliban forces.

They promised that they would lay their support behind the legitimate fight of the Afghan forces. These senior politicians said they do their best to mobilize people to defend Afghanistan.

Protecting Afghanistan’s sovereignty and its national institutions, common values and human rights are duty of the government and the Afghan government will protect them, said the statement.
