Twin blasts leave seven dead and six wounded in west Kabul

As many as seven civilians were killed and six others wounded after two blasts targeted a car and a van type vehicle in Barchi, a western neighborhood of Kabul, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed.

Talking to Kabul Now, Ahmad Zia Zia, deputy spokesperson for the MoI, said that the first blast targeted a car near Mohammad Ali Jenah Hospital, in PD6, which killed six people, including a woman, and wounded two others.

The second blast hit a van type vehicle in PD13 of Kabul city killing one and wounding four others, including a woman, he added.

The MoI official noted that all the victims of the two incidents are civilians.

A total of six deadly explosions have hit west Kabul, which is predominantly populated by the Shia Hazaras, since the beginning of this month.

On June 01, two consecutive blasts targeted commuter buses in PD3 killing 10 civilians and wounding 12 others.

Two days later, on June 03, two blasts killed at least 10 people and wounded 10 others along Faiz Mohammad Kateb Street in PD3 and PD6 areas.

No group has claimed responsibility for these attacks.
