Taliban rocket shelling leaves three dead and eight wounded in Helmand

Three civilians were killed and eight others were wounded in rocket fired by the Taliban militants in the southern Helmand province, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said.

Fawad Aman, a deputy spokesperson for the ministry, said in a tweet the incident took place on Friday morning, May 28, in Gereshk district of the province.

The Taliban has not made any comment in this regard.

The volatile southern Helmand province witnessed fierce fighting between the Taliban militants and the Afghan security and defense forces over the last couple of weeks.
