Four Pakistani soldiers killed along border

Four Pakistani FC soldiers were killed and six others were wounded along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Wednesday, May 05, in an ambush by militants from Afghanistan, a statement issued by the Pakistani army said.

The soldiers were building a fence along the border in Zhob district of Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Zhob sits across from Afghanistan’s eastern Paktika province.

The Afghan border officials have not made any comment in this regard so far.

Over the last couple of years, Pakistan is trying to build a fence along the volatile Afghanistan-Pakistan border, a move that has been deterred by the Afghan forces. In less than two weeks this is the second clash over the Afghan and Pakistani border.

On April 26, the Spin Boldak-Chaman border was briefly closed following a clash that erupted between the Afghan and Pakistani forces.
