Flash flood leaves 12 dead in Herat

At least 12 people lost their lives after a powerful flash flood hit Adraskan district of Herat province, a local official said today, Tuesday, May 04.

Jilani Farhad, the spokesperson for Herat governor, said the incident took place on Monday, May 03, in Rokha village of Adraskan district.

12 people including four children, five men, and a woman were found dead and two others are missing.

The flood inflicted damage and drowned nearly 300 sheep. Some parts of Oba district were also affected by this powerful flashflood.

Aid group and rescue team have been deployed to the flood-affected areas.
