Unknown gunmen shot dead Capitan Atiqullah, the deputy head of National Directorate of Security (NDS) of Hesa-e-Dowum district of Koshistanat along with his nephew in the northeastern province of Kapisa, a local security official said.
Abdulshayeq Shorish Kohistani, the spokesperson for Kapisa police chief, told Kabul Now that the incident took place around 08:00 PM, on Tuesday evening, in Mullah Halil area of Hesa-e-Dowum district of Kohistanat.
He did not give detail but underlined that an investigation was underway.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killing.
The northeastern province of Kapisa is relatively insecure and the Taliban militants control part of the province.
