NDS operatives arrest two suicide bombers in Nangarhar

Operatives of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) have arrested two suicide bombers in the eastern Nangarhar province, according to the province governor. He added that the two militants were prepared by the Taliban and the Islamic State of Khurasan Province (ISKP) to conduct suicide bombings.

Talking to Kabul Now, Ziaulhaq Amarkhel, said that the suicide bombers were arrested in Jalalabad, capital city of Nangarhar, and in Chaparhar district of the province before reaching their targets. He went on to identify the Taliban suicide bomber as Abdullah who is a resident of Kunar province and was arrested in Jalalabad.

The ISKP suicide bomber was arrested in Chaparhar district of Nangarhar. The governor identified him as Zuhairullah, who is a resident of Kuz Kunar district of Nanagar province.

Neither the Taliban, nor the ISKP has commented regarding the arrests.

Situated in the eastern part of the country, Nangarhar is a volatile province where the Taliban militants operate actively in some districts and the ISKP occasionally plot deadly attacks.
