Eight killed and 30 wounded in suicide bombing targeted Laghman governor

As many as eight people were killed and 30 others wounded, including civilians, in a suicide bombing that targeted convoy of Laghman governor today, September 05, in Mehtarlam, capital city of the eastern province, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

Tariq Arian, spokesperson for the MoI, detailed that four bodyguards of the governor and four civilians were killed and two of his bodyguards were wounded along with 28 civilians in the attack. He added that the wounded victims were transferred to hospital.

According to governor spokesperson, the governor has escaped the bombing unharmed.

On the other hand, Nooria Nazhat, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, confirmed that two schools were partially destroyed and four school students were wounded in a separate car bombing in Mehtarlam earlier this morning.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
