Drone strike kills seven civilians in Maidan Wardak province

Seven members of a single family were killed in a drone strike carried out by the foreign forces in Sayedabad district of Maidan Wardak province, local officials said.

Akhtar Mohammad Taheri, chief of Maidan Wardak provincial council, told Etilaat-e-Roz that the incident took place around 09:00 PM on Sunday night, September 08, in Jawzarin village of the district.

According to the local official, a vehicle carrying the civilians was hit by the drone when they were heading to their home.

Confirming the incident, Muhibullah Sharifzai, the governor spokesperson, said that a delegation was assigned and sent to Sayedabad to launch a probe on the incident.

Located in the southern side of Kabul, Maidan Wardak is a volatile province where the terrorist groups are present.
