Afghan forces reclaim Jaghatu district of Ghazni province

Afghan forces have reclaimed Jaghatu district of Ghazni province in a military operation launched on September 03, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement.

The Afghan ministry of defense says that Malistan, Jaghori, Ajristan, and Nahoor districts of the province are now connected to Ghazni city through Jaghatu district which has been cleared of the Taliban presence.

Without providing a specific figure, the statement said that the Taliban have suffered heavy casualties, and a large number of roadside bombs planted by the militants have been defused.

The military operations conducted in Jaghatu district was named after an Afghan military commander, Abdul Mubeen Mohabbati, who was killed in an insider attack on July 17 in Qarabagh district of the province.
