Unknown armed men kill head of Public Security Office of Balkh court

Najibullah Hessami, the head for Public Security Office of Balkh primary court, was killed by unknown armed men in PD3 of Mazar-e-Sharif on Thursday, local officials said.

Munir Ahmad Farhad, spokesperson for Balkh governor, told Etilaat-e-Roz that the assailants managed to escape after the incident.  He noted efforts by police were underway to arrest the culprits.

Situated in the north Afghanistan, Balkh province is considered to be a secure province but the city has seen serious of violence by armed men more recently.

On the other hand, Mohammad Qasim Taj Wardak, director of the Afghan Telecom, was reportedly killed by a magnetic bomb blast in PD5 of Kabul city.

Confirming the incident, Nasrat Rahimi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, said that the incident took place on Wednesday night in Company neighborhood of Kabul city.

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the blast.
