KABUL, AFGHANISTAN – Pakistani media report that the bodies of Afghan woman and her three children have been found inside their home in Karachi.
According to the newspaper Dawn, the bodies were discovered on Sunday, 29 December, in the Sohrab Goth area of the city.
Police said the woman, identified as Fatima Najib, and her children — a three-year-old girl, a two-year-old boy, and a ten-year-old adopted daughter — were found dead at the residence. Authorities say they are treating the case as a suspected domestic tragedy, possibly linked to mental health issues and family disputes.
Najibullah, the woman’s husband, who is from Pakistan’s Punjab province, told police that he found the bodies after returning home from work.
Police officials said Fatima was Najibullah’s second wife and had a ten-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.
The Punjab police have ordered an immediate investigation into the case, adding that the exact cause of death will be confirmed after post-mortem examinations are completed.
Authorities say further details will be shared once the investigation is concluded.
