Health officials in Kandahar say two members of a family were killed and seven others wounded after an explosion occurred inside a residential home in Maiwand district.
The incident took place in Badzi village, in the Qala-e Shah Mir area. According to the district’s public health department, the blast happened when explosive materials hidden inside a household heater detonated.
Local officials confirmed that women and children were among the victims. The injured have been transferred to Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar city for treatment.
The cause of the explosion remains unclear, and Taliban security officials in Kandahar have not commented on the incident.
