Taliban security officials in Logar province reported that a woman in her sixties and a 12-year-old girl were killed overnight in the provincial capital.
According to the authorities, two individuals have been detained in connection with the killings. The suspects reportedly broke into a house in Pul-e-Alam on Friday night (November 6), rendered the victims unconscious, and then fatally attacked them with an axe.
The security command said the suspects also stole approximately 200,000 Afghanis and 4,000 US dollars from the residence. The detained individuals have confessed to the crime and are currently under investigation.
Despite Taliban claims of maintaining security, violent crimes—including mysterious killings and the discovery of bodies—continue across different parts of the country.
Violence against women and children remains a serious concern in Afghanistan, with incidents often highlighting the challenges of law enforcement and protection under the current administration.
