Young Man Kills Father in Nangarhar After Verbal Dispute

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN – The Taliban’s police command in Nangarhar province reports that a young man fatally shot his father following a verbal altercation in the Ghani Khel district.

Sayed Tayib Hammad, spokesperson for the Taliban police command in Nangarhar, stated that the incident took place on Sunday afternoon in the Joy 26 area of Ghani Khel.

According to Hammad, the suspect, identified as Razi Khan, shot his father, Farid Gul Shinwari, with a pistol after a heated argument.

Hammad added that the dispute arose after Razi Khan asked to use his father’s car for a recreational outing, but his father refused, leading to the confrontation.

Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene.

Authorities say efforts to apprehend him are currently underway.
