Taliban Detain Two Over Alleged Plot to Attack Istalif District Office in Kabul

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN – The Taliban’s Kabul Police Command has announced the arrest of two individuals accused of attempting to attack the Istalif District Office in Kabul.

Khalid Zadran, spokesperson for the Kabul Police Command, stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on December 30 that investigations into the suspects are ongoing.

While the identities of the detained individuals remain undisclosed, Zadran shared a short video showing two young men with their hands bound in chains.

Earlier reports from the Hasht-e Subh newspaper cited a “rocket attack” on the Istalif District Office, according to unnamed sources.

Situated to the north of Kabul, Istalif District has previously been the site of attacks against Taliban forces.
