The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), an anti-Taliban armed group, has claimed that its forces killed two Taliban forces and injured five others in an attack in the eastern Laghman province.
In a post on X, AFF said that the attack took place on Saturday night when its forces opened gunfire on the Taliban’s Dawlat Shah district office, located approximately 74 km from the provincial center.
The group’s operatives also fired rounds of RPG rockets toward the district office, the statement added.
The AFF indicated that none of its forces were harmed in the attack.
The Taliban has not yet commented.
The two main groups engaged in armed clashes with the Taliban, the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) and the National Resistance Front (NRF) have intensified their attacks against Taliban forces in a number of provinces in recent weeks.
In the past months, the groups have claimed to have killed and injured dozens of Taliban members in Kabul, Parwan, Baghlan, Kunduz, and Badakhshan provinces.
