Pregnant woman brutally murdered by unknown assailants in Kunduz

Unidentified assailants killed a 28-year-old pregnant woman after cutting off her nose, ears, and tongue in Imam Sahib district of northern Kunduz province on Sunday.

A local source told KabulNow that the woman was a teacher at a private school in Imam Sahib district and that her eight-month-old child was also killed in the incident.

According to the source, the woman’s husband is a carpenter and was not at home at the time of the incident.

The Taliban security command in Kunduz province confirmed the incident and stated that the victim, Mahdia, was killed with a screwdriver. They added that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators of the incident.

Despite the Taliban’s claims of maintaining security across Afghanistan, the country has experienced a surge in targeted and mysterious killings, particularly in the northern and central provinces, since the group’s takeover of Afghanistan.
