Money exchanger shot dead by armed robbers in Kandahar province

A money exchanger, identified as Mohammad Rahim, was shot dead by armed robbers in the Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province on Monday.

Taliban officials said that Rahim was attacked and killed outside his money exchange office while he was heading toward his home. Robbers managed to escape from the scene.

An investigation into the murder is underway, Taliban police in Spin Boldak stated.

This is the latest in a series of attacks on money exchangers and businessmen in various provinces, including in Kandahar.

Reports indicate that the region has become more lawless and crime has increased in nearly two years since the Taliban takeover. However, the Taliban has repeatedly denied it.
