A magnitude 5.8 earthquake jolted northeastern Afghanistan on Saturday at 8:31 pm.
Taliban’s State Ministery for Disaster Management said that the center of the quake was the Yamgan district of northeastern Badakhshan province at a depth of 207 km.
Tremors were also felt in other parts of the province and in Kabul.
The Ministry said no information on any casualties or damage is available yet.
Meanwhile, another earthquake measuring 5.3 magnitude hit the same area on Sunday at 5:02 am at a depth of 203 km.
The Saturday quake was also felt in some parts of Pakistan as well as in India, according to the Pakistani newspaper DAWN.
