Local Taliban officials in northern Balkh province have reported the killing of two individuals accused of robbery during a confrontation with the group’s forces in the provincial capital of Mazar-i-Sharif.
The spokesman for the Taliban governor in Balkh, Haji Zaid, provided details about the incident, stating that the clash occurred in the 7th district on Wednesday when three armed thieves entered the residence of a businessman and engaged in a firefight with the Taliban security forces.
The confrontation lasted approximately 20 minutes, resulting in the death of two of the alleged robbers, while one managed to escape the area.
However, there is no confirmation from independent sources regarding these claims.
Similar incidents have occurred in the past, with allegations that the Taliban have executed individuals, including ordinary citizens, on charges of theft.
