Afghanistan futsal team beats Kyrgyzstan in its first CAFA match

The Afghanistan National Futsal Team beat Kyrgyzstan by 5-4 in its first match in the 2023 CAFA Futsal Cup.

The match was held on Sunday in Tajikistan’s capital, Dushanbe.

“It was a difficult match,” Majid Mortazaie, head coach of the national futsal team, said after the victory. “While the opponent had given us a tough time, the final goal scored by Mehran Ghulami marked the eventual win.”

Afghanistan is gearing up to play next against Uzbekistan on Monday.

Iran won the 2022 CAFA Futsal Championship, an international futsal competition in Central Asia for the member nations of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA).

This year’s competition is held in Dushanbe, and the participating teams include Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.
