Taliban detain and severely torture four young boys in Daikundi

Local sources in central Daikundi province reported that Taliban forces have arrested and subjected four young boys to severe violence in the Shahristan district.

Sources told KabulNow that the four youngsters, accompanied by three female family members, had gone on a picnic near the Helmand River that passes through the Shahristan district. The Taliban subsequently chased and arrested the group.

According to the source, the Taliban subjected the boys to “physical violence and shaved their heads.”

The images obtained by KabulNow confirm these allegations, displaying visible signs of torture and assault on the victims’ bodies.

It has been reported that the Taliban released the captives yesterday afternoon.

This incident follows earlier reports of the Taliban’s capturing and mistreating people from Daikundi. The local Taliban authorities in Daikundi are yet to comment on the matter.
