Taliban agents detain two brothers in Panjshir province

Taliban agents in the Darah district of Panjshir province have detained two brothers.

A person familiar with the situation told KabulNow that Mohammad Panah, district finance manager, and his brother Islam Yar, unemployed, were arrested from their home on Sunday.

The brothers’ house was searched before they were taken away, the source said. They have no links to anti-Taliban groups, he added.

Since the Taliban take over in August 2021, civilian population, often accused of having links with anti-Taliban groups, and suspected fighters with resistance groups have been arrested, tortured, or killed.

Human rights reports suggest that the Taliban’s widespread retaliation against residents of Panjshir and the violation of gross human rights amount to war crimes.
