A fire incident on Friday morning at a gas station in northern Jowzjan province has left one man dead and two others injured, with properties worth nearly 100 thousand dollars destroyed, as reported by Taliban officials.
The spokesman of the Taliban security command in Jowzjan, Abdul Sattar Halimi, said that the fire broke out at approximately 3:40 am on Friday at a gas station in Bandar Andkhoi, within the provincial capital of Sheberghan City.
Halimi further explained that the fire erupted due to negligence during the unloading process of an oil tanker. The victims of this incident were employees of the gas station.
Local sources have confirmed the news, adding the fire was eventually contained after one and a half hours.
One gas station employee claimed that the owner suffered a loss of approximately US$300,000 due to the fire. However, the Taliban officials in Jowzjan said that the fire caused damages ranging from US$80,000 to US$100,000.
