Taliban intelligence agents have detained the head of the private Hayat Balkh-India hospital in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, local sources said.
The man detained has been identified as Musawir Saboor, son of Abdul Saboor Saboor a prominent army general and a Mujahideen figure in the previous government.
Musawir was arrested on Monday morning at his workplace in Mazar-i-Sharif’s District 2 area, a source close to Musawir told.
The reason behind the man’s arrest and his current whereabouts are not known.
Taliban officials have not commented.
