Taliban accused of torturing young man to death in Kabul

Sources in the northeastern Panjshir province say the Taliban has tortured a young man to death.

The victim, named Ahmad Wali, was arrested in the capital city of Kabul on Wednesday. A source said that he lost his life after severe torture in custody.

Ahmad Wali’s body has been handed to his family, the source said.

There has been no reports of Wali being associated with anti-Taliban groups, he spent time in prison during the previous government for robbery.

A source said that Ahmadi Wali’s brother died under similar circumstances last December.

Since assuming control of Afghanistan, the Taliban has faced mounting accusations of arbitrary arrests and extrajudicial killings.
