Taliban security agents arrest high school teacher in Panjshir

Taliban security agents in the northeastern Panjshir province’s Annaba district have arrested a high school teacher, accusing him of having ties with anti-Taliban groups.

According to local sources, the man identified as Imran, is being held by the group’s intelligence agency, the GDI.

A source who knows Imran told KabulNow that he had no links to Taliban opposition groups and had been teaching at a school since graduating from university years ago.

The Taliban have been routinely arresting and imprisoning dozens of civilians in Panjshir and neighboring regions, accusing them of being associated with the armed anti-Taliban group, the National Resistance Front (NRF).

According to local sources, at least 14 civilians have been detained by the group in Panjshir province last week.
