Saudi Arabia evacuates a group of Afghan citizens from Sudan

The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that a group of Afghan citizens has been evacuated from Sudan by Saudi Arabia.

The group said on Thursday that the evacuees have been transferred to Jeddah. The exact number has not been disclosed, and it is unclear how many still remain in Sudan.

The Taliban Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, said earlier that around 120 Afghan citizens had been stranded in Sudan.

Two factions in the Sundanese military have been engaged in fighting since 15 April, leaving hundreds dead and wounded, and sending thousands fleeing the country. And countries with citizens in Sudan have been evacuating them.
