14-year-old child shot dead by unknown armed men in Bamyan province

Sources in the central Bamyan province confirmed to KabulNow that unknown armed men have shot to death a 14-year-old child in Saighan district of the province on Saturday night.

The victim was identified as Shamsul Haq who was shot dead on Saturday night around 09:30 PM in his home village in Saighan district.

Confirming the incident, Saboor Saighani, spokesman for the Taliban’s governor in Bamyan, said that the group’s governor has personally visited the victim’s family in the village and assured them that the perpetrators will be arrested.

The Taliban’s security forces have already started an investigation into the incident, Saighani added.

In February, three young Hazara men were also found dead and bullet-riddled in the same district. The victims, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Ghani and Karim, all in their early twenties, were residents of Khoskh Dara in Saighan, who had been shot and thrown into a valley.

The circumstances behind the murder of these young men have still remained unknown.
