10 ISKP and two Taliban members killed in a firefight in Nimruz

A source in the southwestern Nimruz province confirmed to KabulNow that 10 members of the Islamic State – Khurasan Province (ISKP) and two Taliban forces were killed in a firefight erupted between the two sides last night in Zaranj, capital of the province.

Local Taliban authorities had confirmed that they have conducted a raid on an ISKP hideout in the area.

The firefight took place on Monday night in Masoom Abad village of Zaranj with the source detailed that it lasted one and a half hours.

Taliban authorities have not commented regarding the casualties of the firefight.

Moreover, the Taliban police in the northern Balkh province claimed today that the group’s forces killed as many as six members of the Islamic State – Khurasan Province (ISKP) during a night raid on their hideout in Nahr-e-Shahi district of the province on Monday.

Mohammad Asif Waziri, spokesman for the Taliban’s police in Balkh, said that the night raid was conducted on Monday night on an ISKP hideout in Karte Nassim area of Nahr-e-Shahi district which lasted for one hour.
