Taliban reports 156 cases of murder in Kabul over the past year

The Taliban’s security command in Kabul in a press conference on Wednesday revealed a shocking record of 156 murders in the capital city of Kabul during the last year. Along with the murders, 553 cases of theft and 1,920 cases of other criminal activities, such as suicide, extortion, car and motorcycle theft, sexual assault, drug trafficking, fraud and bribery were also registered.

The Taliban command’s spokesman Khalid Zadran announced the arrest of 232 people in connection with the murders, 901 in connection with theft cases, and 1,836 in connection with other criminal activities.

Despite the Taliban’s promise of security, the country has been facing a serious security challenge, including criminal crimes and terrorist attacks. The discovery of bodies and mysterious murders has increased in the country since the Taliban came into power.
