Taliban intelligence agents detains two civilians in Jowzjan province

Local sources from the northern Jowzjan province reported that the Taliban intelligence agents have detained two civilians in capital city of Sheberghan on Friday and transferred them to an unknown location. 

Sources told KabulNow that the two civilians arrested by a person named Mohammad Yusuf, who introduced himself as the group’s intelligence chief in Faryab province. 

The circumstances behind this arrest remain unknown and the Taliban authorities have not commented yet. 

The detainees, according to local source, were civilians with no military connections. 

The Taliban officials and the group’s fighters have been repeatedly accused of extortion and abuse of power in different provinces of Afghanistan.
