Taliban claims to have killed 8 opposition fighters in Mazar-i-Sharif

The Taliban has claimed that their forces killed 8 gunmen during a firefight in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, in the early hours on Wednesday.

The group stated that two of its fighters were wounded.

Asif Wiziri, the Taliban’s spokesperson for Balkh police, said that the group had killed “rebels and kidnappers”. He did not provide further details.

The Taliban usually refers to armed groups, such as the National Resistance Front (NRF) fighting against it as rebels. And ISKP members as the Khawarij.

The Taliban spokesperson said that its forces had seized weapons, ammunitions and two vehicles during the clash in Mazar-i-Sharif.
