Taliban seals 70 shops Helmand after owners fail to attend Friday prayers

Sources in the city of Lashkargah confirmed to KabulNow that the Taliban Vice and Virtue police agents have sealed 70 shops, accusing the owners of not attending Friday prayers.

A source who didn’t want to be named said the shopkeepers have each been issued with a 10,000 AFN ($111) fine.

The Taliban has previously stated Vice and Virtue orders were advisory only, but it has pubished those who fail to comply.
