Taliban give 10 days ultimatum to beauty salons in Baghlan to close down

The Taliban morality police the city of Pul-e-Khumri the capital of Baghlan province has given hair and beauty salons a 10 days ultimatum to close down.

Local sources have told KabulNow that officers from the group’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, have also told home-based salons to conform with their instructions.

Women hair and beauty salons, a once ubiquitous sites in Kabul and across Afghanistan, have been among the worst impacted industries after the Taliban’s recapture of Afghanistan in August 2021.

Soon after arriving in Kabul, the group ordered the faces of women on posters outside beauty salons and on advertising billboards to be defaced.
