3 Hazaras found dead and 25 missing after crossing Pakistan border

The Hazaras have long been a target for Islamist terrorist groups, including the Taliban, in Afghanistan and Pakistan

A source in Quetta, Pakistan, confirmed to KabulNow that the bodies of 3 Hazara men have been found after a group of 21 Hazaras and 7 of other ethnicities went missing after being smuggled across the Pakistani border 4 days ago. The bodies were bearing signs of severe torture, the source said.

A relative of one of the victims told KabulNow that he believed that everyone missing was dead. And that the Hazaras were targeted because of their ethnicity. “The bodies are being held by the Pakistani authorities and are released one at a time,” he said.

The Hazaras have long been a target for Islamist terrorist groups, including the Taliban, in Afghanistan and Pakistan. In a recent report, Britain’s House of Lords warned that the community faced “a serious risk of genocide.”
